Visions on space division for the workplace

How would you re-imagine space division for the changing workplace?

All Pair products stem from the idea of bringing flexibility to the user. With employee health being the driving force of today's workplace design, we visited our collection to re-engineer our products to accommodate this shift. We landed on two solutions we could implement immediately.

Our founder, Brian Wilson, talks through both ideas in this video, below:

Our flexible space division solution, Saltine.

We wanted to create products that bring a sense of safety to the user. Both options are great for retrofitting existing workstations. The first option is an expanded Swing screen. By making the screen larger and creating desk-to-floor panels we have provided an option that closes gaps between screens, providing better barriers and reducing the ability for virus transmission.

We also designed a totally new product, called Saltine. We knew we had to move fast so we developed Saltine in a month, which is an absurdly fast timeline. We also knew it was important for Saltine to be compatible with not only Pair products, but (almost) any other desking system.

Saltine is a screen on brackets that moves up and down in six inch increments; it mounts to the edge of any desk and creates barriers between workstations without needing major floorplate changes or investment in new workplace systems. Saltine is available in easily cleaned materials such as glass, acrylic, and frosted glass which doubles as a writable surface.
