Challenge

Our client—a large game company—was looking for a custom solution for their engineering team who works with heavy computers with serious processing power. We needed to develop a well-ventilated storage solution so that the consoles would not overheat while running continuous tests. Beyond hardware storage requirements, the engineers also wanted ample space to brainstorm both individually and in small groups.

Solution

We created height-adjustable workstations with seamless power access and custom ventilated storage that allows heat to escape while the company's engineering team runs tests 24/7. Integrated dividing panels complete with full-surface whiteboards and floating shelves allow user creativity to flow.

Mock-Up

We kicked off the design process by constructing full-scale mockups in the client’s existing office, taking a height-adjustable workstation as a base and creating foam core models for the rest of the details.

 
 
 
 

Iterate

We developed a range of desking solutions that considered dividers, storage, and material to help our client quickly visualize options and give feedback to our design team.

 
 
 
 

Prototype

Moving beyond computer visualizations, we constructed full-scale desking systems with final materials to further hone the workstation design, including on-site reviews with our clients.

 
 
 
 
 

Refine Prototype

Utilizing feedback from our first on-site client review, we built a second set of desking systems that focused on maximizing whiteboard space.

 
 
 
 

Detail

Once our prototype was approved, we developed a complete set of drawings that detail the construction and assembly of this custom workstation system.

 
 
 
 

Install
