Challenge

Our client had many diverse teams under one roof and needed desking solutions for different types of work—heads down vs. collaborative vs. work dealing with sensitive information. They also wanted to stay true to the architectural textures and color palate of the building.

Solution

We created eclectic microenvironments by mixing finishes, colorways, and forms. Individual neighborhoods were designed to support each team’s needs and because of the diversity of styles, this project used every single one of Pair’s workstation systems available at the time! Finally our whole family under one roof. To add warmth to this industrial space, we introduced two-toned screens that juxtapose the strong lines of the architecture.

Gather Material Inspiration

Our design partner, Rapt Studio, provided us with the initial color and material inspiration.

Define Finish Palette

Using the inspiration palate, we narrowed down a selection of Pair materials that fit within the aesthetics and design parameters for the project.

Map Tones and Textures

We created a plan diagram to visualize the mix of finishes in each desk cluster. This map also outlines the different neighborhoods and their work styles. Some are best suited for collaboration, while others are designed for heads down work.

Mix Elements and Finishes

Desk and space divider options added much needed color and texture to the large open space.

Final Install

Using the full Pair product line, we delivered an eclectic space with a mix of warm tones, textures, and finishes that complimented the architectural elements of the space.

Featured Products

Flexible, modular, and evolved for the modern office, Mix gives you the height adjustability you need and the personalization you want in a benching solution with lots of standard finishes and style options. Raise it. Lower it. Make it yours with a touch of personality.

An unconventional solution to the open office, Swing was built to divide personal space and distribute power and data. Personalize it by adding tackable acoustic screens or writeable whiteboards—or use the bar to hang plants or lighting.

Belay is a height-adjustable, free-standing desk that comes with a range of feet, legs, controller, and finish options. Every detail from the ground up can be fully personalized. Belay was designed to compliment all of our benching systems.

Crostini offers privacy with either a full or partial screen. Customize the colors of the tackable acoustic screen. Who said barriers couldn’t be both functional and visual?

Toast, our free-standing acoustic panel, is versatile and light enough for anyone to move. Position this screen between desks, in collaborative areas, or group them to create on demand walls. Our tackable surface makes it great for brainstorming or for impromptu meetings.
